Tell Me A Story Festival Launches on Steam

Meta Publishing’s Tell Me A Story Festival has put a lot of good story-driven games on sale on Steam. We say Baldur’s Gate, you say “We played that, Road 96 is also very good.”

The festival started on October 2nd and will continue until October 8th.

This is not a discount event organized by Steam. In fact, the same sale event is currently active on GOG.

That’s why few games are on sale. However, there are a small number of games or discounts that have attracted attention and made a name for themselves.

The festival’s showcase of upcoming games is already fantastic. For example, there’s Rogue Trader, a cRPG from the world of Warhammer 40K, coming out on December 7th. The Talos Principle, the puzzle game we loved the first one, is coming on November 2nd. Hellboy: Web of Wyrd, which stands out with its graphics and combat-heavy trailers, is quite surprising to see in the showcase. Coming out on October 18th, Hellboy will hopefully fill us up with story.

The Fabulous Fear Machine comes out tomorrow. This strategy game, where we scare the public and make them vulnerable to manipulation, attracts attention with its plot and visual style.

When we take a look at the games and discounts that are already out, the Road 96 package immediately attracts attention. In this game, we play the story of a group of young people trying to escape from a dystopian country. On the way, we meet other unfortunate people like us. We make music with some and talk politics with others. Unless, of course, we need to run from the cops or fear for our lives.

We don’t even need to talk about Baldur’s Gate, Pillars of Eternity, Pathfinder and The Witcher. Right?

We have already reviewed Gamedec, where we are detectives in virtual worlds, for you in this article.

So…

Let’s Recommend Less Popular Games with a Story!

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante

Sir Brante is great if you want to play a nice text-based role-playing game. We follow the life of a young man named Brante from the moment he is born in a very fantastic and dystopian country. We witness all the important turning points of his life and decide which way he will turn.

You can be sure that you will get your time and money’s worth. Steam page is here.

Where the Water Tastes Like Wine

This game is the quintessential “Tell Me A Story Festival” game. In this adventure, which is supposed to be the centerpiece of the festival, we play a man wandering the vast lands. As we travel, we witness some events and travel to spread these stories to other parts of the land. As we sow our seeds, we learn new stories and continue our journey. After a while, we witness how the stories we sowed change from ear to ear and we are impressed.

The game is based on weighing which stories from our vast story repertoire we can impress the travelers we meet on the road. In other words, this is really a game where our problem is to tell stories. And it costs 19 lira! Steam page is here.

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood

In this game, we play a witch who is condemned to solitude. The reason we were exiled from the witch community we were a part of is because of our powers. They also took the tarot deck from Fortuna. So the game starts with us making a pact with an entity we should never talk to and creating our own tarot deck. As we choose what the tarot cards mean, we are bending the fate of the people and events whose tarot we will look at.

This game comes from Deconstructeam, who also developed The Red Strings Club. Both are on sale. You can check out The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood’s Steam page here.

Norco

Norco is one of the games on sale at the event and deserves attention. In this sci-fi story, we return to our family home that we angrily left and thought we would never return. An empty house and a big disappointment awaits us. Because we left because we were angry with our mother and she passed away quietly while we were gone. Our little brother, who begged us not to leave, is nowhere to be seen.

This game, in which we try to understand what happened to our family during our absence, stands out with its emotionality and atmosphere. Our surprise spoiler-free review is here.

That’s it for me. If you have any treasures to recommend to me or us, please share your suggestions in the comments!
